Terms and Conditions

1. Admission:

A> The signatories to the Memorandum of Forum and the Office Bearers of the Governing Body of the Forum shall be the first members of the Forum.

B> Any engineer having qualification B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech or equivalent not below the rank of Assistant Manager and permanently working in the WBPDCL’s establishment shall be eligible to be a General member of the Forum. Any General Member on getting superannuated shall also be eligible to be an honorary member subjected to his/her consent.

C> To attain the eligibility of the membership, engineers shall agree in writing to be bound by the Memorandum and Regulations of the Forum and will be interested in advancement of the objects of the Forum.

D> Any engineer who is eligible to be a member of the Forum may join the Forum by submitting the prescribed enrollment form, duly filled in, along with prescribed admission fees & subscription as applicable, to the Secretary of the Forum for recommendation and final acceptance.

E> An admission fee of Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty only) is payable at the time of enrollment for General Membership. No admission fee is required for Honorary Member.

F> Any engineer who is a member of some other Association or Union of the WBPDCL or any other else cannot be a member of this Association except for Honorable member with the discretion of Governing Body.

G> Be it noted here that the power to admit members is the sole and absolute power of the Governing Body which may refuse to admit any person as a member without assigning any reason thereof.

2. Types of membership:

A> General Membership shall be open to those who pay prescribed annual subscription at a time within a calendar year and who in the opinion of the Governing Body subscribes to the objectives of the Forum.

B> Life Membership which will be termed as Full Membership, shall be open to those who pay prescribed fee at a time to enable him be the Life Member and he/she need not pay any membership fee till the membership remains and who in the opinion of the Governing Body subscribes to the objectives of the Society. The life members will be called Full Members of the Forum.

C> Honorary Membership will be the any person whose connection with the forum is deemed to be useful, may with the consent of such person be elected as Honorary member of the Forum. Such members shall not, however, be eligible to be member of the Governing Body nor shall be entitled to vote in any meeting. The honorary member will not be required to pay subscriptions, but will not be barred from donating if any.

3. Cessation of Membership

A> Any member shall suspend and remove to be a member for activities prejudicial to the objectives of the Forum after giving such a member an opportunity to show cause against such removal as suspend.

B> Any member shall cease to be member on his/her resignation from membership by a letter addressed to President / Secretary.

C> On his/her connection of any offences in connection with the formation, promotion and management of the conduct of affairs of a Society or a Body Corporate of any offence involving moral turpitude.

D> To be guilty of any offences.

E> If any member directly hampers the interest of the Forum, the Governing Body at a meeting specially convened for the purpose and for which at least one month notice shall be given.

4. Membership Subscription:

A> A member shall pay subscription as per the following:

No subscription required for honorary membership.

Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand Only) for General Members paying Life Membership fees for once service life.

Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) per year for General Members paying annual fees.

B> A member paying annual fees shall pay subscription by 30th Day of June every year, failing which the member shall be treated as defaulter for that year.

5. Register of Members :

The Forum shall maintain a Register of Members containing the Name, Address, Phone Number, Mail address and Occupation. The Register will be kept open for inspection of the members of the forum on requisition to the secretary. All entries required to be made therein, shall be entered within a period of 15 days.

6. Rights and Obligations of the Members:

A> To take part in all General Meeting of the forum and derive the benefits of rules.

B> To be eligible for vote at the General Meeting.

C> To inspect the accounts and proceedings of the forum on appointment with the President / Secretary.

D> To submit suggestions for discussion to the Governing Body and Sub Committees if there is any on any matter relating to the forum.

E> Members shall have right of one vote each.

7 Expulsion or Removal :

Frequent actions of any member, if found by the Governing Body is detrimental to the interest and is in violation of the Rules and regulations of the Forum, it may be after one enquiry, censured, suspended or expelled from the membership by the Governing Body. In that case, the Governing Body shall first serve the member concerned with a show cause therein the charges framed and asked her/him to submit her/his statement of defense within a month. On receipt of the explanation, the Governing Body shall have the power to take suitable action against the delinquent member after allowing him/her to defend. If no reply to the show cause notice is received within a month, the Governing Body may take an ex-parte decision.

For any act of expulsion or termination, no such member shall be entitled to prefer any claim for compensation or damage even if proved on subsequent date that such act of expulsion or termination was wrongful and unlawful.
